English 271 (World Literature I)

This course is a study of world literature from its inception to the mid-seventeenth century. Emphasis is placed on representative works and writers of this period and on the literary, cultural, historical, and philosophical forces that shaped these works and that are reflected in them.

English 272 (World Literature II)

This course is a study of world literature from the mid-seventeenth century to the present. Emphasis is placed on representative works and writers of this period and on the literary, cultural, historical, and philosophical forces that shaped these works and that are reflected in them.
